In New Posts you can still see the Forum structure you're in at the top of the page.I never go anywhere but New Posts unless it's Recent Activity 'cause nobody has posted since my last visit and I want to post something.
This is why I put the project name in the subject (when I can remember. For example:

If it's in a general forum like the one for WU alerts, absolutely, that makes sense. But to me, if it's in the forum dedicated to the Project, that qualifies you for a position in the Department of Redundancy Department.
