    Free servers

I am giving away the following for free. Please post here in this thread if you are interested in any of them.

    Notes:
    • These should be used primarily for crunching for the team, and not for resale. When you are done with them in the future, it would be nice to pass them on to fellow team members. No, I am not going to try to keep track of any of them. Honor system.
    • I would like to help smaller crunchers become bigger crunchers, so will lean in that direction. So in your post, please summarize your current farm.
    • Availability should be in a month or so.

    A) HP Z620
    • Dual E5-2680 v2 @ 2.80GHz (20 cores/40 threads total)
    • 64gb DRAM
    • 500gb SATA SSD
    • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GT 1030
    • Win7 license that you can upgrade to Win10 for free, or use linux

    B) Dell T5600
    • Dual E5-2670 @ 2.60GHz (16 cores/32 threads total)
    • 64gb DRAM
    • 500gb NVMe SSD
    • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GT 1030
    • Win7 license that you can upgrade to Win10 for free, or use linux

    C) Mobo/CPU/DIMM combo
    • mobo: Z10PE-D8 WS
    • Dual E5-2630 v3 @ 2.40GHz w/ AVX2 (16 cores/32 threads total)
    • 128gb DRAM

@purplecfh - Thanks for the mention and offer to help me upgrade!

    @Z:

    This is my current farm.

    R2D2
    Motherboard: Intel DG35EC (LGA 775)
    CPU: Intel Xeon X3360 @ 2.83 GHz (4 cores/4 threads)
    RAM: 8 GB DDR2 (Machine maxed out - 4 slots @ 2GB each)
    OS: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 670 (2GB)

    YODA
    Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 6.0 (AMD Socket AM3+)
    CPU: AMD FX-8350 @ 4.0 GHz (8 cores/8 threads)
    RAM: 16 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 800MHz (4 slots @ 4GB each)
    OS: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 970 (4GB)

    VADER
    Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Extreme3 (LGA 1155)
    CPU: Intal Core i7 3770K @3.5GHz (4 cores/8 threads)
    RAM: 16 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 666MHz (4 slots @ 4GB each)
    OS: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 970 (4GB)

I'm looking to retire R2D2, the Quad core X3360.
I couldn't run any of the GPU projects with it in the Penthalon.
    A whole 4 cores/threads of Rosetta wasn't helping much.

I would be interested in either the HP or Dell as it's replacement.

Thanks again for helping out the team!

What does C need to get crunching? Case, power supply, hdd, gpu? Anyways I'd be happy to give any of them a home to crunch.

I had to put the GTX 670 into service because the GTX 970 in that machine burned up. The VR chip got so hot it scorched itself and the chips around it causing it to melt the solder and physically fall off the board.
Had to air out my man cave for a day after that.

The GTX 670 is an OK card but the demands of the some of the GPU projects leaves it on the sidelines at times.

I'd be interested in a card. I'm not a beggar or a chooser, but would put any hardware into crunching service.

My computers R2D2 and YODA are mostly made up of spare parts left over when a friend or family member has me upgrade their machine.
I assemble enough parts to get them crunching, and heat the house.

    Re: Free servers

    Anyone else interested?

    A couple more notes:
    • For C, it is sitting in a HAF-X, fully functional. No way am I trying to ship that gigantic beast. But if anyone is near Reno and we are able to meet in person, you can have the whole thing.
    • These offers are for shipping within the USA only. It would cost more than they are worth to ship internationally. Sorry!

I'm interested, but I'd say the all need them more than me at this point.
