You mentioned a $1000 budget. If you'd like to get a little closer to that, you could get this EVGA GTX 660 ($229.99 + free shipping) instead of the Gigabyte 630. Would give you a bit more oomph and you still come in under $1000, even after paying for Windows

By all means go with a SSD. I put one in 2 of my boxes and the difference in boot time is significant. I have 1 more that I am going to change over as soon as I get a chance. I did do a complete reload of the computer but if you are building a new one you won't have that problem.

If you were going with a 1 TB sata drive, which one is good ?
That size is fine for movies, camera pictures and videos with plenty of open space always.

Also, any advice on a mouse ? I like the trackballs, wired if fine.
I don't see the one I have now on newegg but those are really kool.

Lastly, any suggestions on a monitor or on anything else before the order is placed ?

These are the mouse and keyboard I use. If you go to the Eggs site the also have both in a refurbished state. You would save close to $15.00 on each one. Also both are wireless and work great.

That's pretty common these days. I've used solutions like that with WD, Seagate and Maxtor. Free download, but only works if at least *one* of the drives is from that manufacturer. Even though, in one case, I was using the tool to get data *off* the vendor in questions drive.

Shell Shocker deals are from Newegg and only last a couple of hours or less if they sell out quickly.... They have deals that start different times of the day so you have to check on there site several times a day to see what they are offering... very smart on their part...
