"Sphynx" is crunching with us on Chess. Anyone know him?
It would be good to get some more team mates on this project, so that we make sure we get some of the "First Team to reach" awards on Free-DC.
Sphynx is Al McAdams I need 18 hours to finish my work on Yoyo and then I plan on hopping on Chess for a million.
Just noticed Chess has badges!
Only catch is, you can't view your badges by looking at your account :/ You have to pick your name from this list to see them: http://chess.qugate.org/top_users.php Hopefully they'll fix that soon.
Edit: Seems most people already knew that...oh, well. It's new to me

I'm trying to Coax him into a Improved Badge System but he seems to be stuck on the Default BOINC Badge System, may as well not even have one if that's what he's going to use ... IMO
Yeah, the default badge system sux. For those who don't know, it is based on your current standings. So it changes all the time.
I prefer badges that represent the amount of crunching you have done, where they only increase in value over time.As an example, we've provided images for "Top 1%", "Top 5%", and "Top 25%" badges,
and a script that assigns these badges to the users and teams
in those percentiles of RAC. - DA
... and they could have The Duke to make the badges for them, I got one but it is not yet on signature.
Friends are like diamonds and diamonds are forever
I haven't coded anything to pick up the 'standard' boinc badges. There is no export for them at all yet and even then, I'm with zombie, don't like the implementation. Not when they get taken away from you.
The good news is that the admin at chess@home is looking at adding credit badges too, using chess pieces I think as the badges, which will be cool.
Sometime I'll have to fire up Wine since there's no linux app.
I do like the chess piece idea.
