I checked 'use cpu' at the project and I downloaded a few tasks. I don't run the cpu tasks so I better change it back.

Re: DistRTgen: First ever project challenge

I've only tested this on a few tasks, but it appears that reserving a thread for AMD GPU's here helps. My time was about 1 hour for my 6970 until I freed 1 thread, then it went down to 30 mins. 50% of the time. I'm assuming the tasks are uniform in length.

It's possible there were other factors affecting my pc, so if anyone else sees this, please let me know.

I updated ATI/AMD drivers to 12.3 and updated BM to 7.0.25 but I still cannot get any ATI wu's on that box. Plus, that system is now crashing every 2~3 hours.

So for now I'm giving up. Reverting back to CCC12.1 & BM 6.10.58 as I type this.

Re: DistRTgen: First ever project challenge

I decided to try Dirt ATI wu's on a different machine, and it is working. Running Catalyst 12.1 & BM 7.0.25 but not using the GUI - BOIC Tasks instead. Hopefully the Wu's will falidate. If not I guess I'll try Catalyst 12.3.

Side note: Here is something for WinXP users. Beginning with Catalyst 12.2 AMD has removed OpenCL support for WinXP. I am sure this was mentioned in another thread. Just want to be sure it is out there.

F$, I had found 7.0.23. That for some reason stopped all work on GPU and so I had to reverse to 7.0.18. Where can I find the 25 version?

    Thanks on advance F$,

Yeah, I finally got some myself, my only chance to catch Robert is to run the CPU Task, that may not even be enough though ...

You may have already done this, but have you tried freeing up a cpu thread for the AMD GPU pc's? Worked to speed up crunching on my 6970.
