    I want to retire and and make crunching my FULL time job. Can that be a goal?

    no probably not. I think you will find that everyone you know suddenly knows you are retired and have nothing to do, and they make it their goal to make sure you never run out of something to do, for someone. You will wonder how you ever had time to go to work.
