I avoided them for a long time for this very reason. But, I had a CPU fan lock up recently and tried to cook my processor, so any component can fail and potentially harm another. Unfortunately this Kraken took two major components down with it.
Thankfully the system is back up and running, although down to a single GPU. The screen is flashing a bit when running on the Intel HD graphics... I'm hoping it's a mobo issue and not the CPU.
I submitted an RMA to NZXT with photos and description of the damage... we shall see what happens next. If they ask me to send the components in, I'll be down a machine for a while. So basically they'll be forcing me to upgradei7-5820k anyone?
