Thanks Joker. Helps a lot. I also have been reading the posts by Pop about one better card now fill the other slot later vs 2 low end cards. I'm leaning towards the 570 right now.

What ya think about this one? $294.00 after rebate, $335 if they never send the rebate.

GTX 570 all the way on this one. It will pretty much match 2 GTX 460s, and runs nice (cool & less power) compared to the other 400 series cards. Had I known that, I would have got 1 or 2 570's instead of the (4) 460 / 465 cards I got.

With a medium OC on GTX 570 I can get 650k per day, probably over 700 if I pushed it.

ehhh...actually according to that spreadsheet, 2 460s give you an extra 100GFLOPS over a 570. 460s also run a tad cooler than a 570 at a given overclock.

But getting the 570 will leave you with an open slot for something in the future for even more credits

I'm on the phone with Newegg now and returning these and getting the card above unless someone thinks otherwise?

I have been CRUSHED once again by the JPM! JK. Guess I read it wrong (or maybe I was just trying to push him into one card so he could upgrade later ) we may never know.

I personally think it looks like a good deal. Lets see what JPM says first.

This is true, but we know that the 500 series has had some optimizations, and also, the 500 series O/Ces higher (runs cooler due to said optimizations, can take more voltage, etc). So, theoretically, (2x) GTX 460 > (1) GTX 570.
However, in reality, Bryan is reporting nearly the same off his GTX 570 O/Ced per day as I am off 1 pair of my GTX 460s.

If I had the money at the time and knowledge to do it over again, I would go the single 570 route.

    Joker,

what you say back is look at the performance Gflops. When I made that chart I based it off of PG the 500 series has a higher FSB then the 400 series. So it produces more at the same ghz. Like a p4 vs a sandy. If they were both @ 3ghz you would get more out of the sandy then the p4 at the same ghz. Same with the Nvidia cards, in that aspect the 570 will out produce the 460’s by 100gflps.

But in my math I base a 460 on 300k and an 570 on 600k a day both are just est. between brands and conditions both can move I’ve seen 460’s that would only produce 250k and I’ve seen 570’s that would be pushing 750k but I wouldn’t call either of them normal.

I like the MSI for less

Its a good deal the 460's have come down 40-50 bucks so really hes making 100 bucks on this deal.
