Thanks. Now is a good time to push for PG badges. They are offering credit bonuses for some sub-projects. Not sure how long that will last.
I read on there that Prime Grid did that because most crunchers prefer short runs. The sub projects with those credit bonuses have real long CPU runs. Some take days to complete. Some may take a week on older machines. I ran one of those Generalized fermat prime search tasks(GFR) on the GPU and it took 58 hours to complete on my very lowly video card(GT 630). The credit was 29,000 for just the one work unit and without any bonus. it was enough for the bronze badge(20K)Very kool.
That "17 or bust" sub project has a 50% credit bonus right now but it also says the average time to complete is 205 hours. Translated that might mean 350 hours on an older machine.
Either way, the credit will be nice on that one. Other sub projects have 10%, 20% and one has a 35% credit bonus.

Got my 5th star at WuProp![]()
BOOM!
Another badge on World Community Grid. My 3rd.

RETIRED. NO JOB. NO MONEY. NO WORRIES!
Crunched SETI Classic to the end.
SETI@home classic workunits
17,550
SETI@home classic CPU time 86,861 hours
The GenferWR WU's are bonkers long on less then superman GPU's. I am constantly pushing on PG, but it seems like the machines with GPU's that get loaded up on GFN and PPS SV WU's, rarely get any CPU WU's from the other sub-projects.
Side note: finally got my si.png badge. Go phones go!
FWIW, this is what they do on my iMac with a GTX 680MX (this is a mobile GPU):
Genefer (regular): ~19.5 hours, pays 29,333, or 1504 c/h
Genefer (world record): ~220.5 hours (~9.2 days), pays 556,725, or 2525 c/h
(just for comparison, on a TITAN, the WR take about 89 hours)
Both use very little CPU, no reserving of threads needed, and both checkpoint. So if you are going to run Genefer, choose the WR kind. Both types of credits go to the same badge. The only reason to crunch the shorter one is if you need hours against another app for wuprop stars.
Third star went Gold 5000_1000_500_100_0.png
